I do a lot of wmv video editing....
Appended below is the system information of my PC.
Do I need to increase my RAM and if so, how much would be sufficient for my PC?
Would appreciate is someone could advise. Many thanks

what you have might be sufficient, but you could get 1 gb you wont have any lag.

It really depends. 480MB isn't alot of system memory with Windows XP. Increasing it to at least 1GB will definitely make your OS run more smoothly with your editing program.

Adding even 1.5GB or 2GB would probably make your editing render faster, but eventually the performance will bottleneck because of your video card and processor.

I would definitely increase your RAM, you will see a performance increase in your computer as well as your video editing.

I should be able to help you there, as I have a system with almost the exact same configuration, except I almost always have Firefox, BabelMap, Dreamweaver, Inkscape, and Photoshop open. And I have 2GB RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

I would strongly suggest upgrading your RAM to at least 2GB.
And, if you have enough time (and build computers :p), I would suggest upgrading your processor to at least an Intel Core 2.
Then you can overclock that, too. :p
