I need a calkulator to convert feet, inches and fractions of inches (8`s) to metric units. It should do the convertion as the user fills in numbers in the calkulator.
I use a small excel spedsheet to do this at home, and would like to have this possibility on my site. Can anyone help?
I am building canoes and kayaks and most litterature is in english with imperial units. It would be very helpful to have a calkulator to convert meassurements.

I know of all the nice convertion sites out there, the problem is they can only take one number at the time.
We boatbuilders use a table of offsets to draw the oulines of our crafts. It can be hundreds of coordinates to calculate. One coordinate in a table can typicaly look like 1-7-3+, 1foot-7inches- 3/8, the + means +1/16in. Since i am European and uses the metric system, I recalculate this into cm or mm. When I use an online converter or a calkulator this takes a lot of time, so I made a small excell-sheet to do this. Now I want to share this with my fellow boatbuilders, but since I want visitors on my website I want a calkulator on my site and not a downloadable excel-file.
If anyone can help I can e-mail you the excel-file to illustrate what it should look like. It should be possible to place the script in a DW table with my own text and pics in other cells in thr table.
