How to create a submenu?

hi..
i was looking at the glossy horizontal menu which normally looks like these:

How can i add sub-menu code..so that when hover the mouse over the menu it would look somewhat like this:

Start with these: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/ddtabmenu.htm
and then change the background images etc... to get it to look like the tab.
