Hi all,
I make tutorials online all the time for you tube, and my screen recording software just pooped out on me. Cam Studio is the name. It works fine, but it does not record audio from my mic. My mic works fine, I tested it in other programs and it works. I must have downloaded, installed, un-installed, and deleted dozens of free recorders(well not dozens but you get the point). Yes, I have hyper cam! I am a freeware-only person with 95% of all my programs are freeware. I am on a low budget ($0) and am not spending money for a bunch of 0's and 1's arranged in a particular order. And now for my point. Does anyone know of a good screen recorder with auto pan for free???
Thanks,

However that costs $49.95. I have looked at it before, and not downloaded it because of that reason. I need a good one for free. I have already re-installed Cam Studio, but it does not like my mic. I have made numerous videos with audio with this mic, I don't get why it is not working now.
P.S. The mic does not go in the "round" red port, but rather its a usb mic that comes with it's own software, could that have anything to do with it?

If you're not willing to spend any money, you may need to make some sacrifices.
You can find a decent audio recorder for free, and you already have your video done.
Now all you need to do is just run them both at the same time. You can start the screen recorder first, in fact, and actually record when you start the audio, and it'll be incredibly easy to line them up again.
Windows Movie Maker would be able to time these up again, or you can find another program.
I'd actually recommend purchasing quicktime pro ($30), because it can do that and has a lot of options. But if you don't want to, I won't bug you about it .
Another program for basic editing is "Zwei-Stein" editor, from the company "Thugs at Bay". It's a bit odd to get used to, but it's free and has a lot of features. Google it and take a look.

The problem may be with your hardware configuration, not your software setup. Try recording your voice (if you haven't already) and re-listening to it. If that works, but your mic is still not being captured, try looking into your hardware setup and see if that gives you any ideas. It may not be your problem, but it is a possibility. It's happened to me before.

Also, I'm not sure if they offer panning or zooming, but try taking a look at Fraps or HyperCam. I've heard they work pretty well. I've used Fraps trial version before, ($10 or so for the registered version) and it has actually recorded ghost sound feedback from my speakers (???), so if it can record, it probably will. Give it a shot, and I hope I've helped.

Thank you for this nice tool! But i prefer another program called Macvide ScreenCap at macvide.com.You can view captured data in a mobile device using the 3gp format. I worked with Photoshop and had to present my screen shots and this software is the best for me!Store result screenshots to PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP formats.Save captured video to quickTime MOV, iPod mp4 or Mobile 3GP formats.Save captured to Flash SWF and FLV Video.
i like this tool it's super :D
