Disable right click javascript. :p

Hi every one try out this right click script I made and see what you make of it just copy&paste the code into your site. This script displays one pop-up (once) and a small banner as its only a demo. The code may look funny :D but it works in all browsers, the reason is, is that the JavaScript is encrypted. Please leave your comments and please let me know if you find any bugs e.g. does not work in some browsers or away around it. This script ONLY works online not offline (if using offline) you will only see a blank:page. Reason I did this was just to add alittle extra security for you!!!!

copy&paste code below:
-----------------------

get code from

http://www.*****************/scripts/rightclick.zip

Firefox defeats it.

So basically, it's an encrypted script (which is encrypted using perfectly avaliable techniques, for FREE, on the Dynamic Drive site), which displays an advert and doesn't work?

Erm, excuse me if I'm wrong, but isn't your whole website profiting on existing free technology and adverts?

Maybe I'm in a bad mood, but that's disgraceful.

/edit: For your reference, the Dynamic Drive HTML Encrypter works just as well as your paid product (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/encrypter.htm).

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 06:26 PM
No not really as that encryptor does use the same method, and the way in which I have done it is much more secure than the URL you gave me. Well you did not even try the script out, so only comment please if you try it. I'm after feedabck on what people think of the script ONCE they have tried it. The only reason I encrypted the code was so that you cant read or edit my code. If anyone would like it then e-mail me.

Excuse me, but I tested the script quite thoroughly, and my comments still stand.

Explain yourself.

Placed code on http://cr3ation.co.uk/geocaching/ , still there. Check for yourself. Does nothing.

reason for change of post due to other member in forum saying code not working after some looking I found the code was not layed out well and you must copy and paste code from http://www.*****************/scripts/rightclick.zip then DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING or it WILL NOT WORK!!!!

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 06:45 PM
ahhh found out why it might be beacuse of the layout?? if the above code does not work downlaod the script from my server http://www.*****************/scripts/rightclick.zip

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 06:51 PM
Yes, found out your problem with the code not working and that is that the layouts wrong, due to when you copy&paste from the forum it reformats the code you must copy and paste from http://www.*****************/scripts/rightclick.zip

cr3ative
06-12-2005, 06:52 PM
Well, my site's updated, but your code is still malfunctioning. Not looking good for a commercial product, is it?

Hardly very encrypted, either, is it? Ever used a DOM inspector?
Unicode "escaping" is not secure, and you should not convince people it is. That's unethical in my opinion.

Your "encrypted" code follows.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!--
hp_ok=true;
function hp_d01(s)
{
if(!hp_ok)
return;
var o="";
ar=new Array();
os="",
ic=0;
for(i=0;i<s.length;i++){
c=s.charCodeAt(I);
if(c<128)c=c^2;
os+=String.fromCharCode(C);
if(os.length>80)
{
ar[ic++]=os;
os=""
}
}
o=ar.join("")+os;
document.write(O)
}
//-->
</SCRIPT>

Firstly, //--> SGML delimiters are obselete.
Secondly, the <script LANGUAGE=""> has long been replaced by <script type="">.

Overall, your code is a shambles.

cr3ative.

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 06:55 PM
thats not all the code parts the the code do not show in a DOM viewer e.g. FireFox's DOM viewer, well you have not used the code from http://www.*****************/scripts/rightclick.zip I use notepad to copy and paste and WORKS EVERY TIME! You must be doing something wrong

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 06:58 PM
I can prove it works first downlaod http://www.*****************/plugin.zip then visit http://www.*****************/protect.htm and see a example I have made

/edit: checking your page.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!--
hp_ok=true;
function hp_d01(s)
{
if(!hp_ok)
return;
var o="";
ar=new Array();
os="",
ic=0;
for(i=0;i<s.length;i++){
c=s.charCodeAt(i);
if(c<128)c=c^2;
os+=String.fromCharCode(c);
if(os.length>80)
{
ar[ic++]=os;
os=""
}
}
o=ar.join("")+os;
document.write(o)
}
//-->
</SCRIPT>

Ooh scary.
1) Escaping a load of unicode is not "encryption," nor is it "security."
2) A bit of maths later, *if* anyone could be bothered, and this would be laid open.
3) This won't work if anyone copy-pastes it, as the line-breaks will become spaces and you end up with things like "funct%6 Fn" in your code.
4) That's not even valid HTML. The tags should be lowercase, and "language=JavaScript" was deprecated for "type=text/javascript" sometime last century.

You're *selling* this? For *money?* This is what I'd call a primary school project.
Nice job on learning what ActiveX is, but don't forget that only IE supports it.

ok my website I wrote in Valid XHTML look www.***************** I can do that its easy whats your site then? and think your so good then get the code for my protected page found on my website. Good luck mr know it all...

cr3ative
06-12-2005, 07:08 PM
HAHAHA! It's not even your code! And I can still right-click!

"Welcome to Opus Plexus Installation Wizard".

And constant links from the plugin to www.digitalworkshop.com

And your "encrypted" pages rely on this?

Get off my internet.

And for your information, writing XHTML strict is very easy.

cr3ative

/edit: And is "<NOSCRIPT>Page protected by html block - www.***************** - purchase html block today only 4.99</NOSCRIPT>"> really a way to greet people with javascript disabled?

Also, do you really expect EVERY user to the protected websites to download a 3.2mb plugin just so they can view the page? I think not!

<? ob_start(); ?>

Excuse me, sir, you left your buffer running.
Or not, as the case may be.

You're telling me you did all this to stop _right-clicking_? Pardon me if this isn't what it does, but I don't run Windows, so I can't install "your" plugin. Good deal, uh?
Do I really have to point out how many other ways there are to get source and images from a page? HTML is plain-text. You _can't_ obscure it, except from complete newbies. Like yourself.

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 07:14 PM
ok ill make a test page for you two sec's and ill upload it for you to get the code

cr3ative
06-12-2005, 07:19 PM
No, wait.

1) Did you or did you not steal Opus Plexus' code?
2) Does or does not your page require the 3.2 meg plugin? (Yes.)
3) Does it allow right-clicking? (Yes.)
4) Can we view your source code? (Yes.)

Twey
06-12-2005, 07:22 PM
(5) Does it make your page totally unreadable to everyone except Windows users? (Yes.)
(6) Does it have any sort of support for people without JavaScript? (No.)
(7) Had it struck you how stupid it would be to redirect non-JSers to the plugin as they couldn't use it anyway? (No.)

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 07:24 PM
http://www.*****************/getcode.html

NO PLUGIN NEEDED OK LESS SECURE BUT WELL ITS FOR YOU SMART ASS AND THE PASSWORD IS : 'forum' and you get the code?

Drugie: You need to enter it more than once.
I personally don't have the time to deal with this arrogant newbie.

I'm sure our new friend Twey will post the code soon.

Drugie
06-12-2005, 07:30 PM

Drugie
06-12-2005, 07:44 PM

cr3ative
06-12-2005, 07:45 PM
htmlblock: It's obfuscated javascript spammed with line breaks. Appalling coding.
Twey is analyzing it at the moment.

Twey
06-12-2005, 07:47 PM
The plugin isn't more secure. The user can use a packet sniffer to get the code before it gets to the plugin.
Unless it's encrypted, which, judging by your former performance, I doubt.

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 07:47 PM
what are you saying cr3ative you have got the code to work now?

htmlblock
06-12-2005, 07:49 PM
Twey packet sniffer I have already thought of when using a plugin and yes you get a bit closer using that medthod but it does get you the code coz people have tried that before and got no where.. you may try.

Ok, I agree this thread in getting nowhere and ridiculous. Bottom line, disabling right click is a futile and frawned upon action. If you must, do a search on Google for the various variations of the disable right click script.

Closing thread.
