Shoutcast stream

Hello everybody! i want to make a script that will detect if there is a
http strem (from a shoutcast radio station) and display the status of
the station (online/offline). I have no idea on how to do this so i would really
appreciate some guidelines.

That's a question that's probably better suited for the SHOUTcast forums (http://forums.winamp.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=140). You can probably get more accurate information there.
