I've been know on my drumset to break many things... I have broke like 5 cymbals, a bigilion drumsticks, drum heads, springs, and now i broke something pretty important...
I broke my bass drum head...
The first picture is a super close up with glare...

The next is the horrific scale of the damage...

BTW thats with my left foot, and i'm a righty... I was playing on the bass (feet) this beat: (R l r L r l R l r L r l R l R l ) *upper case is accented, lower case is normal* i was doing that with both my feet in full 16th notes *fast* while hitting the snare and splash on the accented notes... (makes quite a beat...)
Its going to be a littie expensive... like $40-$80 cuz its 24" wide!

ya i was... i think i was playing at... about 150 beats a minute... which means i was playing one full measure (R l r L r l R l r L r l R l R l) in 1.625 seconds... Which is fast for me considering I rarely practice *good habits*...
Ya it is tragic but its not uncommon... This is the first time I've ever broken a bass drum head... It lasted about 4 years *the head, membrane, the thing the beater *the thing through head* hits...
