Channel Mode Window Opener

Hi
Could someone please assist me with this. I need to use the channel Model window opener code but not initiated from a button as the script on here shows but instead from a text link.
Is this possible?

I am pretty new to html so i would really appreciate some example code to do this.

Simply replace the button with the text you want ;)
