can someone recommend a good free flash creator!

ummm.. find a friend who has Flash and beg them to make you something for free?

If you want to create Flash you need Flash, which isn't free.

You can look into MicroSofts attempt to get into the Vector Animation market with Silverlight (http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/default_ns.aspx)

I haven't yet tried this application so I have no comment on it.

This one is good for basic slide shows..
http://www.flash-slideshow-maker.com/ Use the advanced options so you can edit the xml file and have a bit more control over the output. I used it for the portfolio on my web site.

That software is such a blatant copy of SlideShowPro!

If you want a flash slideshow, just invest in the real thing. It's not that much. The output quality will be so much better and feature-rich.

why not just google "flash portable editioon" you can find a download for it within seconds and it doesnt need to be craked, same with my ililustrator, PS, dreamweaver etc
