1) Script Title: Textual tooltip II (fade into view)

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex5/linkinfo2.htm

3) Describe problem: (I did spend an hour or so searching the forum so I think I may have a new issue- for this app, at least).

I have a sample page with link below. I'm using a table with a large merged cell as the target for tooltip text. Images in the other cells are the tool tip initiators... It works somewhat, but it disappears when mousing over the image, then comes back again when exiting. It seems to only work well when hovering over the border. I've tried the onMouseover/out in the <TD> and <IMG ...> tags.

(right now only the image of the girl in upper left has target definitions).

If there is a simple solution, then part two of the question is I'd like to have some default text in the target cell on page load, or on mouseOut into la la land... I did see this addressed, in the first tool tip with the array.

Thanks much,
Steve

You have your colors reversed. Here is where the background color should be entered, it should be black (000000 as shown below - you have FFFFFF):

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

//Script submitted to and featured on
//http://www.dynamicdrive.com

/*
* FadingText(divName, numSteps, BGColor)
* divName : Must match the DIV names defined at the end of the BODY)
* numSteps: The number of steps in the fading transition
* BGColor : The background colour of the DIV or document.
*/
FadingText('fade1', 10,"000000");

/*** The "Frame Interval" Smaller = faster ***/
FadeInterval=30;

</SCRIPT>

In the body, with the onmouseover event, is where the foreground color goes, it should be ffffff, as shown, not 000000, as you currently have it:

. . . ight table cell) yada yada </FONT>','ffffff')" onMouseOut="fade_ . . .

Thanks, that was a goober move on my part, I think what threw me off is that it was so close to working- then I was reversing mouseOver and mouseOut to troubleshoot :)

Also wondering about having a default image in the center target when there is no mouseOver happening?
