Question About Download Scripts

I am novice at web design but have put together a web site and need to know what and if there is a type of script to use for visitors to download documents pdf etc.. or pics. Can someone please please help. :eek:

You can use a simple PHP code in side the directory in question. One example here (http://www.totallyphp.co.uk/scripts/directory_lister.htm)

Leave the downloading to the visitor. Some can and want to open PDFs in the browser etc. they can right click and save as to download if they prefer.
