So I just wanted to let you guys know about my day:

Woke up
Got something to eat
Got on the computer
Two bolts of lightning struck a 4-5 story tall tree outside my house, blowing out the sound card in my comp and shattering a figuring at the base of the tree.
Got something to eat

Yes, not one but TWO bolts of lightning struck a huge tree in my front yard. Ironicly, this has happened before to another tree in our front yard-- the tree died, and sap was bubling out last time. This tree might survive.

Anyway, I thought that was worth sharing. The blast was loud and birght (woke me up :p), and I (being a foolish college student) was on the comp and my finger got shocked through the keyboard. Good times :)

it got to your computer from another building and blew out your sound card. wow bad luck. My friend was playing something once, his house was struck by lightning, it traveled threw the game system(forgot which one), and his socks were found on the other side of the room.*

*Note: my friend tends to exaggerate (he didn't catch a 3 foot bass), but the system did get fried.

Not from another building. Lighting hit a tree in my front yard and went through my electric (There are two gashes running down the length of the tree-- I should post a picture of it). A couple of other things in the house are fried as well, but the tree still seems to be alive :)

we had something like that happen to my house awhile ago... we had two electric surges come through the phone lines to our house. It set off the fire alarm (no, there wasn't a fire), completely killed the phones, and messed up our computer's modem... my dad had to rewire everything and we got a new modem....
