I just rebuilt a website for a friend of mine:

http://www.brickwallbuster.com

She would like to have a "form" where a person can sign up to request to be put on her mailing list. I have just a simple form here:

http://www.brickwallbuster.com/form

Obviously I need to put more text on the form.htm to explain to people WHY they would want to sign up to be on her mailing list. (She will send them information when she runs special rates, etc.)

She currently hosts on GoDaddy.com. She likes this hosting company because she is just an individual, and they can take monthly payments out of her PayPal account. I don't think I can easily talk her out of moving her account away from GoDaddy.com.

I have contacted GoDaddy to inquire what kind of auto-response they support. I am pasting their response to me below.

I need help in determining what exactly this means to me. My friend wants to have something come back to the email address that was entered for the signup to be on her distribution list, to verify that it is a good email address, and that the person does want to be added to her distribution list. I use FrontPage 2003 and am completely lost from here on in. Help is GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for contacting Online Support. Our hosting accounts support coding for auto-response to forms; although, we do not provide technical support with third-party scripting issues. However, if you are are using a method other than the mail() function in your PHP code, please use relay-hosting.secureserver.net as your outgoing relay server to send email. If you are using the mail() function in your PHP, you do not need to specify an outgoing mail server.

Well Bravenet (http://www.bravenet.com) offers what you're looking for. Although the only problem with Bravenet is if you're not a provisional user then anybody who submits a form must go to a confirmation page hosted on Bravenet. It's good if you don't want spammers or bots, though.
