Hey, does anyone know of a free program that allows you to build a custom flash site?

Thanks,
Briggs

You can download Flash from Adobe for a 30-day free trial.
Then make your way to flashvillage.com (or a numerous about of other websites) and grab a free Flash template.

That's the best option I can think of to end up with a half way decent product at the end.

The problem with that is, the site I want to do with flash has to be maintained on a regular basis, and without the editing program, I can't really do that...
Unless I stick HTML in there, which I don't particularly want to do :p

I was hoping that there would be a free program out there, like nvu for html...

Thats a downfall of Flash. It isn't free. You can google around for free flash templates and ready to go usability, but you are stuck with how it looks. You can get the trial as Medy suggests, and make it your own, using php, JS, HTML and XML you can create files in those languages to upload and pull information from, then all you have to do is edit those files to make changes and updates.

or you could look to Ebay (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&dfsp=32&catref=C12&from=R10&satitle=flash+8&sacat=41859%26catref%3DC6&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=98346&sabfmts=1&saobfmts=insif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=32%26fsoo%3D2&fgtp=) for the last version (Flash 8) instead of the new one (CS3 - Flash 9) which will be cheaper.
