i found an interesting problem using firefox 2.x on a mac regarding downdowns over a flash movie. when i scroll over the dropdown it shows the menu, but creates a block of white that's as wide as the flash movie and is the height of the dropdown over the movie. the dropdown/flash interaction is fine in all other browsers, including on pc browsers. anyone had this problem?

Yeah, this is a very common problem. Although, why it's only happening for you in FF is kind of peculiar.

Anyway, check this (http://joshuaink2006.johnoxton.co.uk/blog/82/flash-content-and-z-index)out. It should be the answer you're looking for.

thanks for the link medyman. i've tackled what they're talking about on this page, namely the problem of a menu falling behind a flash menu, in which case the wmode=transparency solves the problems. this problem is different though. only in FF2.x the menu is creating a white box over the flash movie the height of the menu as i've mentioned before. strange.

hmmm...
yeah, if we were able to see it in action that might lead to being able to fix it. I've never had that happen so I can't really speculate as it its cause.

Hey Ps, I did a lot of research on this and couldn't find a solution. I also tried all kinds of workarounds, but as far as I can tell this is a bug in FF 2. If you find a solution please come back here and post it. Good luck
