Hi Guys,

After bringing an old computer back to life, I was wondering is it possible to format the HD and load up the MAC OS. If it is possible, how would I go about it. Also, is it possible to connect a MAC computer to a windows network or am I pushing my luck a bit. I did Email Bill Gates about it but he never replied.

Thanking you in advance,

Paul:confused:

Probably not. Mac OS (please don't capitalise it, MAC is a different thing altogether) runs only on some fairly specific hardware. You could install Linux, or BSD.

You can use the drive in a Mac, yes, but as far as I know you do need a Mac computer in the first place. To reformat just attach it as a secondary drive to an existing Mac and format from there.

You can connect to a network, in a few ways, but you can't run it like it's a PC, exactly. I've had the most luck running the network from the Mac, using it as a server, then you can connect to it, drop to it, from the PCs, then get files from it, from the PCs, though this doesn't give access from the Mac to the PCs.
