Some code for news headlines

Im trying to find some codw which i can use for the top of my website homepage. I dont want any scrolling marque banners etc. I want it so on the left side there are the news headlines and when you roll the mouse over these headlines content appears in the right columm with the news. Can anyone help with this?

You can do it in Flash, easy enough. JS will be a little more complex coding, but can be done. Other than that marquees are your answer.

Marques have no relevance to what i want to do and i do not have flash.
Instead of headlines maybe i should have said stories or articles instead.
