View Full Version : Looking for a fixed top bar that WILL NOT overlap the header

You know, like a bar where i could display ads in it, and content is pushed under that frame. That way, the frame with the ad in it is always kept at the top while not obscuring any of the content.

I found the Collapsible Frame (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex8/collapsemain.htm), but I want something whitout the 2 pages in 2 frame menu.

A bit like the top Google Bar at the top there, See the page (http://books.google.com/books?id=gBFIu60EZTkC&printsec=frontcover#PPP1,M1)
But without any of the complex buttons to change content from the other frame. A simple, fixed frame that doesn't overlap content and where I can place any content, html/script/other.

It's not 100% needed that the frame follow the user as he scroll down on the main page, but it would be appreciated, as long as it DOES NOT overlap the content of the page. If it could overlap content, I'd have tons of choices on the site lol.

I'd also like this content frame to be invocable from another file. Example, a simple javascript insertion line. That way i only have to spawn the file with a <script type='text/javascript' src='navigation.js'></script> line for example. I already did that with a link menu on www.namworld.com

Now I only needed something similar, that does not overlap content and can be fixed at top, and that allows more content than just link. It must be simpliest possible. No need to look nice. Just a broswer width topbar where content can be put.

And no, I won't just put content at top of the page. It need to be a remotly called script/object because it must be placed on other website than mine with easy line.

In fact, I need something quite similar to the dhtml menu on my site, www.namworld.com , but that generates a fixed top browser bar.

Think I'm clear enough, enough repetitions.

Thanks if anyone know such a script.
