Hey, I want to learn how to some stuff with Java. I have tried before but i failed...
If someone could direct me to starting to learn my new computer language...
I currently have Notepad++ as an editor...
I need brief detailed step by step instructions on how to get to experiment with Java...

If someone could help me that could be great...
Feel free to message me using msn...

I use Turbo JBuilder 2007

I'm sure Eclipse would do, but if you don't really feel like setting things up . . .

Anyway, you will find that IDEs are great and will vastly improve your coding experience. (You will be a happier person as a result.)

You should probably begin learning without an IDE if you are teaching yourself. Aka, Notepad or something. My basic text editor is TED Notepad (http://jsimlo.sk/notepad/). Nothing fancy, but it does the job.

I haven't really looked at this tutorial, but I'm sure it would be good:

I thought Ivor Horton's Java book was good if you can find that at a library.

I am trying to make a file upload form of some kind... What server scripts does java work best with? I am currently using php with my site and become very good with it... Oh, and is there a tutorial on advanced hello world stuff? Cuz the java sun people think that I know everything, (but i really dont...) lol
Thanks man...

I glanced at this part of the tutorial:

I think it will suit your needs. I've heard that youtube has decent tutorials if you don't want to read.
