Hmm... I heard about that about 3 years ago. Seems it's being slow. But that's pretty cool. It'll be nice when it actually catches on.

You turn the crank and it powers the laptop. I think 15 minutes turning is an hour or something.
It's $100 to allow poorer nations to afford these and spread technology, allowing news and word processing, etc., in these communities that otherwise would not have computers.

There are some countries still where the entire internet is hand cranked.
Ireland, apparently. I was speaking to someone the other day whose local communications companies refuse to believe the building in which he lives actually exists.
