Hello everyone... i would like to ask a general question about flash and forums... i was wondering if that it is a good idea to make a forum entirely from flash... Would this be possible??? If so what would I need and here are some ideas *more like features* of what I want to put in it...
1. 2 modes *full features and basic features*
2. Constantly updates to keep user informed of a new post, pm, reply, or if some logs on...
3. A "Notify me by (choice) if (action) happens" button...
4. Fading and Sliding out/in effects...
5. Nice smooth images...

Any more suggestions would be good... please tell me whether this is a good, awful, ok, or awesome idea... *it would be nice 2 explain why, but thats optional*...

Thanks!

Well, yes it would be possible though I don't understand why you would go that route.

It would be an awesome experiment but might prove bad from a funcitonality point of view. There is so much contant parsing of data from a database in a forum, that Flash might not be the most effecient.

With that said, it is certainly possible. You could alter an existing opensource form code (phpBB, for example) and use the core scripts. Then read in variables from the MySQL via php.

Basically, it's possible. But might not be worth the headache.

Yeah... it does... I will definitely start to work on it... I'm trying to make an flash upload form first which uses php... that will give me some experience. I just got flash 8 and am saving up to upgrade to flash CS3 so I will definitely be trying this out... I will keep you guys posted on my attempts to do it...

P.S That bulletin looks really cool...
