Crazy spam...

This isn't of great importance, but just VERY weird.

I have gmail, and that usually blocks spam extremely well.

However, I just got 35 spam emails NOT marked as spam, in my inbox, between 3:11am and 3:39am. The majority were between 3:11 and 3:16, then it slowed, with 5 showing up in the next 20 minutes.

I just looked at my inbox and thought it was my spam folder.

I'm perplexed.

My email address is out there enough, and I get a ton of spam (maybe 20 a day, at times), but in the spam folder, and not THIS frequent.


...WOW.

Just looked at my spam folder to compare the trends, and noticed that most DIDN'T go to my inbox. I have 541 new spam emails since 3:10am, with, again, most falling in the range of 3:10-3:20.

Is there a virus going around? Just my lucky day for attention?

I'm not getting any more spam than usual to my gMail inbox, and my email is certainly out there as well. I don't think your problem is due to a prolific worm IMO.

Well, it's slowed down to a sluggish pace of about 100 spam emails in the last day or so. And none in the inbox.
Odd night, though.

if I ever got up to 100spam mail a day I would get rid of that email address :)) no matter how good of a filter I had.

on my "spam" account that I give out when a confirmation is needed at a site, I get bout 350emails a week, and I dont even both looking at them, I just immediate hit delete when I check that address once a week.

gmail is usually quite good. As I said, 100 emails or so, but none came in the inbox.

Generally, I get around 4 spam emails a week in the inbox, if that.

thats crazy man... once my computer had to go in to be repaired and it was out for a week and a half and i received 1,204 legit emails *not spam* probably about 5k spam since i use Outlook Express it downloads them... it took 3 hours and 45 minutes...

my gmail has no spam *knocks on wood* but thats because my email address is posted no where, my yahoo account got around 1200 a day untill i turned off send spam to bulk box, now they are deleted upon receival

each hour i recieve 100 emails... yeah, most of them are DD because i have instant reply thingy... but I rarely use it... lol

I use GMail in conjunction with WLMD, at many of them don't get caught in GMail, but in WLMD--I haven't had a single spam message go through in WLMD in the past 3 months, signing up for over 20 newsletters, services, etc., however, I did once get a legitimate email get caught in WLMD's filter... :p
