I've never been owned an iPod nor can be considered remotely an Apple fan. The new iPods that was announced today though did grab my interest, in particular, the iPod Touch. With its Wifi and web browsing ability, it's almost like a pda/ mini laptop. Anyone else particularly captivated by the new iPods?

nope... apple / mac / windows *pukes*

I presently do not have / will ever own an iPod, and no its not because you need to have iTunes.

I am more of a mp3 player myself, even though the one I have I just use it for the radio. haha. anyone wants to buy it?

I've never been owned an iPodDo you mean "owned by?"

I intend to use a Neo1973 as a music player when I get one, but only as a side benefit. A music player is definitely a luxury for me, and I wouldn't even consider purchasing a dedicated device (even if it weren't DRMed to the ears like the iPod).

The only time I listen to music is on the computer or when I drive (no, not a computer drive... that's got to be the worst joke I've made in a long time), and for the latter, I just use CD's. Costs less.

I use my iPod Nano at school, i listen off my computer,
Heres what I say about the iPod Nano:
Good:
Easy to maintain and keep working...
Holds all your favorite songs
You can hold your contacts and calender *and even put alerts onto there*
You can play solitary if your super bored.
its super small...
If your headphone plug pulls out or gets accidently pulled out *either way* it pauses the song...
Bad:
It doesn't play movies but its got a 2 inch screen so thats why.
You can't edit, change, add, or manage your contacts, by just using the iPod nano...
You can't buy games for it! Thats only everything past the iPod Video!
----
Overall Review:
Rating 4 out of 5 stars...
Reason:
Good thing to buy if you really want one. If you don't have that many songs its a good thing. I got this instead of the shuffle because I don't like my songs being shuffled. The new iTunes fits great with it. It doesn't take long to transfer 400-500 songs.

I got an iPod shuffle on Sunday. It's Great.

So small... I have to check in my pocket every 5 seconds to see if it's still there. :p

Sound quality - Awesome. Just awesome.

I have a sorta inverse feeling about this to ddadmin.

I have been an apple fan for a long time. But the ipods are just kinda weird, I think.

So many people are caught up in a lot of hype.

The cool factor with the ipods severely outweighs any real benefit. However, they ARE very good devices compared to others on the market still. (Though I'm not sure worth the price, considering.)

I have an ipod video from a couple years ago. It's quite nice, certainly. No real complaints. But it was pretty expensive (around $400).

The marketing around ipods is absolutely insane-- and it's working.

But I suppose it's just supply and demand-- would you do anything different if you were running Apple? ;)

I'll be getting an iPod Touch as soon as they reach the UK.

I'll also be a Mac convert by the end of the year ;)
