having worked around for hours trying to hack current collapsing menus apart i am struggling to get close by any means.

Does anyone have a script with something like this going on, without any graphical elements, and relatively easy to manipulate?

it froze up my Firefox, and it took about 2 minutes to load in IE6...
for that reason i would definitely not look to copy whatever they were doing...
