IE doesn't run and gives 401s for some websites?

I use Internet Explorer because Hotmail allows me to send many pictures easily through the upload tool. I also add a rich text jpg signature to every message (using the old Hotmail, as the new Live Hotmail does not provide rich text signatures). On Firefox, Hotmail doesn't work properly: no signature, etc.

Now I'm running into problems with IE again. So I used Firefox and IE, until IE stopped working. I removed Firefox, and IE started working again. Here is the initial IE problem:

When I type in my web stats address at GoDaddy, or try to log into my personal account page at my shipping company, I get two error messages and cannot enter either page. When I go into these two pages using Firefox, both of them work. On IE, typing in my webstats pages gets me:

You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page due to the access
control list (ACL) that is configured for this resource on the Web server.

Click the Refresh button to try again with different credentials.

Since a week, I was using Firefox for these two pages until today, when
trying to open IE gave me a 'you are not online message'. I was online at the
time, since Firefox and Skype were working. I removed Firefox and was then
able to go online with IE. I asked my service provider and they only said
they have nothing to do with this.

What is going on?

Sounds like your IE installation is very broken.

I've been experiencing very laggy loads on pages. Essentially it just hangs, then finally loads the page. When it actually loads, it's quick. My download speeds run about 9000k so it's not that.

This has been happening with IE and FF. I wonder if they have a conflict? I think I might just re-install them both and see what happens.

I've run two spyware/adware programs, and also run Symantec Corp edition, as well as Avast. Everything checks out. So frustrating... I miss my old bare bones clear hard drive of my gaming machine... now that I use it for work...bleh too many apps clogging crap up.

Anyone know of ways to possibly fix this issue? Other scans out there? Trying not to do a wipe and install, as I have a ton of programs I need as well as data.

Which programs are you using for your other virus checkers? some virus checkers are spy ware themselves which hinder system performance. Also, if you are going to install a lot of programs I recommend that you make a partition of the windows part of the hard drive or get another hard drive to have for program installations. This makes it so it is harder for programs to screw up windows and allows for faster start ups and system performance. And does anyone know if using a lot of different virus/spy ware programs can make them interfere with each other? Seems like there are some programs that don't like to share a computer.
