drop down menu+link

I would like to create a drop down menu that, obviously, drops down when hovered over. And when I click on the original word, it takes me somewhere, not just to "........default.htm".

What I mean is that the word that I normally hover over, when clicked, will take me somewhere.

Sorry I'm not very good at this.
