First, I'm assuming you need it to be an event calendar... in which case...

This is the best free and customizable calendar script I've found (although not ajax)

If you absolutely have to have ajax, check

PHP calendar with AJAX driven agenda (http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/71754.html), which is a more advanced calendar, and has ajax.
