I can work the file how I want once it's imported but for some reason I can't get it to import. The file is freshly downloaded from puretrack.com and it plays in my media player. (So I don't think its corrupted) And I did something similar not to long ago but I had just learned how so I can't remember.. isn't as simple as "File" --> "Import File" and selecting your file?

Yes, that's how you import to library. Check to make sure that the clip isn't indeed in the library panel.

Does it give you an error? What type of file is it?

The library is where I'm trying to import to. And The error it gives is "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them."

Then there might be an error with the encoding of the sound file. If you want, upload the file somewhere and I'll see if it works for me (that way we can narrow down the problem).

There is your problem! The flash sound object doesn't support .wma files. Convert to .mp3 and try again :)

Well thank you! I don't know why I didn't think to check the file format. I didn't know flash didn't support .wma

Try any of these:
http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=wma%20to%20mp3&tag=srch

Also, windows XP comes with it's own audio converter. That works just as well (if you have XP, that is).

Note: Flash ONLY plays audio at 44.1kHz. Make sure the sampling rate is set to 44.1kHz. If the sampling rate is anything different, you'll get faster/slower playback.
