Favicon

I created and uploaded a new favicon to my site and it works fine except for on my desktop. My Desktop Shortcut keeps reverting back to the old one. Is there a file some place on my computer that I have to deal with? If so how do I get to it and what do I do with it?. I am runnung Windows IE7. I have cleaned out the cache many times. The new one is in the favorites menu just as it should be but I can't get rid of the old one on my Desktop. Thank you for any help you might send my way...

I'm not sure about IE7, but I know that IE6 and below had trouble with caching the favicon and could take up to 72 hours or so to reset in some cases. You might just want to wait a few days to see what happens.
If not, you probably need a better way to reset the cache.
One option there would be replacing the desktop page with something else, waiting a bit, then changing it to your site, hoping you wiped out any cached files.

I've tried removing the shortcut altogether but maybe I haven't waited long enough for the cache to wipe out the old files. thank you for your responce I'll keep trying...

Just for your information. When I would look at my favorites menu it showed the new one but I just opened the Favorites folder and there was the old one instead of the new one. I deleted it and now only time will tell if this helps...
