View Full Version : Adjusting volume when page loads
Hi everyone,
I basically just want to know how to adjust the sound (Volume)
when my pages load.
It's not something I would recommend but if you want audio when your page loads it would be a good idea to have it on low.

You can't. That's a system setting, and you can't tamper with it.
You shouldn't have audio when your page loads anyway, unless the user is expecting it (e.g. a link saying "audio page").

Make the music softer.
Oh well... I'm not gonna brake my head over this but if someone comes up with a way to control the volume on a wav file on page load up let me know.
God bless you and yours! :)

You'd need to use a plugin, like the quicktime player or flash. However, I'm not sure how much interaction with javascript these players have. Quicktime has a few things that javascript can do, but it's kinda buggy. I assume other similar players are the same. I might work, though.
Or you could use flash. I think there is likely a way with that, since it gives you direct control through scripting of how the flash 'movie' plays.
But both of these would be different than just including in the page.

...Have you tried literally making the wav file quieter?

I suggested that earlier already...

If you want to do it for me the file can be downloaded here. (http://www.beholdhecomes.net/wolves.wav)
Reason being is that I'm not at home and I can't download anything to do this with.
Thanks...
