View Full Version : No Copyright on Site

I was looking at a website's javascript code, which is nearly hidden, to find what operated something on the site. I came across the "Submit Once (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex11/submitonce.htm)" script here on DD. Here's the code exactly on the site, without any copyright and direct from the source:

function submitonce(theform){
if (document.all||document.getElementById){
for (i=0;i<theform.length;i++){
var tempobj=theform.elements[i]

I'm not sure what to do to report such a thing, but I saw other topics here about stolen content, so I just posted here to see.

P.S. I will not list the site until I'm 100% sure of what to do.

Posting the site here is the usual routine. ddadmin will probably take care of it.

If you think that is bad take a look at this site
Not one of these scripts are original, they are taken from other script sites around the net.
Not only has the webmaster removed the copyright he has inserted his own banner in place of it to direct users to his site instead of the script originator.

Thanks, I'll take a look at the extent of the violations and decide what to do next.

That wasn't the violating site (although I wouldn't be surprised if some of those scripts were from DD too).

JLP, please pm me the URL of the site in question then.

Well, the reason I really don't wanna post is it because it just got hammered for stealing content. But, I'll post it anyway.

Site; http://www.subetax.org/
Stolen Script; http://www.subetax.org/include/js/subeta.js

The script is in the headers and is called "subeta.js".

function getElementValue(formElement)
if(formElement.length != null) var type = formElement[0].type;
if((typeof(type) == 'undefined') || (type == 0)) var type = formElement.type;

case 'undefined': return;

case 'radio':
for(var x=0; x < formElement.length; x++)
if(formElement[x].checked == true)
return formElement[x].value;

case 'select-multiple':
var myArray = new Array();
for(var x=0; x < formElement.length; x++)
if(formElement[x].selected == true)
myArray[myArray.length] = formElement[x].value;
return myArray;

case 'checkbox': return formElement.checked;

default: return formElement.value;
}This piece of rubbish looks familiar too. Can't remember if it was a DD script or not, though.
