I am coding a forum and I was woundering what kind of features you like, dislike, wish you had, etc. For example, I am putting in an option that --if selected-- will alert users when their new thread gets it's first response, 'cause I think it will be a nice touch. Anyway, what do you all think?

Trial and error, til it's smooth. Minimal space between links that you'd click one after another, easy to find navigation, etc.

Ajax communicates with the server without having to refresh the page. This way, people can submit a form and have a response without the page refreshing, among other things. The "quick reply" in this forum is an example.

Thanks. I am working on the formatting stuff right now. So far it's going well. I have a real time preview so you can see what the formatting will look like as you type (testing my javascript skills :) ). I am also going to have a lot of the features that are on DD, such as the thank feature-- or so I hope; haven't started on it yet.

Anything else? Anything spectacularly insanely cool (such as something not on DD)?

BTW, cursed, what is "bb"? Formatting?

BB = bulletin board code/markup.
