Erm... draw it.

You could look into other applications as well. Paint Shop Pro isn't too bad. The GIMP is a freeware version of photoshop, though I find it more annoying to use and it is less stable.

Photoshop should probably work on your computer. Does it match the requirements in the packaging? (Box, manual, etc.)
If you downloaded it, the file may just be corrupt. We certainly don't support pirated software here.

Zoom in :).

Press the magnifier on the left and select 8x on the bottom. Play around with it a bit.

I think he means disk space.

Get another hard disk.

Storage Space
160GB is good for the casual computer user.
250GB is a good amount for gamers. - Recommended
500GB is good for storing movies, TV episodes, etc.
2TB (2 000GB) is a good amount for video editors.

Types of Hard Disks
RAID is for more security, (aka. "mirroring" your hard disk)
SCSI is for servers.
SATA/SATAII is for normal computers.
IDE is for old computers. Most modern computers now only come with one IDE port, which is for your CD drive. Some motherboards come with none.
20GB-80GB is extinct now.

Cost
Anywhere between $60-$1200

Or delete some old files. Empty the recycling bin first, then see how much space is left.

For space, here is a general breakdown:
1. Text files (.doc, etc.) take very little space. A few KB each. You'd need a lot to even need 10mb. No problem.
2. Pictures aren't huge, but can add up. Especially full size digital camera stills can be a few megabytes each, so this might end up filling around 10gb if you have a lot of pictures.
3. Music adds up quickly for many music listeners. If you store all of your CDs, this can be a big drain on space. mp3s are nice and small compared to CDs, but they still take a good bit to store. CDs are 700mb each (.7) gb and mp3s are something like 1/5 that size. Having tens of thousands of songs can add up fast.
4. Video... this is the big one. It's sound, like music, and a series of pictures, like photos, adding up every second you have. It's smaller for internet quality videos, and huge for anyone who uploads footage from a camera for editing or viewing.

Note that above those numbers seem about right, but 2,000gb (2TB) is quite a lot for video. You can get away with 500gb for a while, certainly.

I didn't include gaming above, and that does take up space as well. This would depend on the user, but if you are a big gamer, look at how much space all of that takes up.
Likewise, all applications (including photoshop) take a good bit of space (anywhere from 1mb-300mb, or even 1gb for really large apps), so uninstalling things you don't need could help too.

well you could store it on a CD rom. however what I'm doing I don't think you should do.

photoshop is not that large you should be able to make some room.

or just use MS paint. I made a banner on it.
if you are thinking I'm strange; you can make a good banner wit hit if you spend a bunch of time working on it

20GB-80GB is extinct now.

Ouch, I have a 37.2 GB as my system drive, and a (gasp) 14.2 GB for my programs.

I also have an old 20GB drive sitting in a box in the kitchen.

The really bad part is that I got this computer in November of 2006.

I have an 80gb HDD. My home folder takes up 15gb of that, 10 is music, the rest misc videos and .isos, a few D&D pdf docs.

But it's eventually going to run out, and i cant keep backup it up when i want to switch distros or i royally fail and kill fedora.
I was thinking of getting a new disk, setting up an 80gb ntfs partition so i can dualboot xp and linux... then format the remaining space as ext3 and mount it to the /home directory...

Just need to find a big, cheap hardisk. Off to the local thinktank, i suppose.

Hey there,
I can make you your banner if your still not able to help yourself thru.. Does it need to be a one image banner or animated?
I am not that good in animated.. and I still have to figure out how I can get my animated png's to work out on a website (I always only get the first image) but I am able to make you something..
Just let me know...
