I just had a random thought and was going to ask a few people, but then realized it would make sense to get a general idea from everyone.

There are several ways that I think are compatible with almost every browser, so I wonder... how do you scroll?

Since it's a multichoice poll, choose what you use regularly, not just all the options (unless you just love 'em all).

I chose spacebar as I use that almost all the time and the scrollwheel/trackpad scrolling option since I use that when I want to go to a more precise location on the page.

I usually use the mouse wheel, but sometimes I will use the keyboard (space bar, up/down arrows, and page up/down keys).

I use all of them depending on what's closest to my hand and what browser I'm using. Rarely the click-and-drag method, though.

In FF I use the scroll click method, where a circle appears and you move relative to that.

I use the mouse wheel mostly, but I also use the arrow and page keys a lot. The others are rare, space-bar - only as an accident, dragging the scrollbar - for precision or if the mouse is off, track-pad is on and I don't want to use the arrow/page keys.

Did you forget to include the middle mouse button drag? I don't use it that much. Though it is really handy when scrolling in both dimensions at once.

Mice differ in their use, as do trackpads. Depending on the computer, that function might just be with a multi-directional mouse wheel, or by sliding your fingers diagonally on a trackpad (such as on my macbook, where two fingers are scrolling). The first option should cover that.
It is a slightly different case, but it isn't the same in all browsers/systems/mice, so I didn't think it needed its own category.

I usually use the mouse wheel to move small distances, or press the wheel and drag over larger distances. If I'm reading a lot of text, I use the keyboard: cursor keys for short distances, page up/down for large.

I simply use the mouse or the keyboard (not pg up/down) when I feel like it, at random...
