Hi,

Well I am desperately in need of a solution in getting rid of "SPYLOCKED"!!!!
It is quite a dangerous spyware and my parents will kill me if i don't get rid of it cause this computer is the only computer we have in the house!

I have a Windows ME (millenium edition) and i have tried lots of tutorials in getting rid of the spyware but they were all written for XP and vista computers, so they basically didn't work.

I downloaded SpyHunter to try and get rid of the spyware but all it does is scan the computer show me the results and then when i click on fix issues it says i need to buy the software!!!

I seriously, desperately need help! If anyone can help me, PLEASE DO!

Try Spybot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/). Just run the updates every week or so, remember to immunize, and scan after doing the updates. I use this on my home computer, a few of my servers at work, and a few of my co-located servers as well. Works great and it's free.

Hope this helps.

another thing that might work is put your computer into safe mode... that Safe Mode only allows the programs that are critical to work run, therefore giving you more power to get rid of spyware / virus' ...

but yes spybot is a very good tool, another one is called Eusing Free Registry Cleaner, which looks at the startup of your computer and see's what is now a "dead link" and it will get rid of it and starting your computer will usually be 30-40% faster

I have a Windows ME (millenium edition)Hahaha :p I suggest you get a new OS. The 9x series of Windows is a joke as far as security goes, even moreso than the current (well, maybe not so current, now Vista's out) NT series. On top of that, ME is soon to be unsupported by Microsoft, meaning any remaining ME machines will be eas(y|ier) game for script kiddies and malicious crackers alike.

But yes, Spybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and Spyware Doctor (http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/) should solve your current problem.

As above, lose ME and use spybot (among other things). I suggest also, if you don't get a new OS, reformatting your computer once in a while. Every 6 months or so makes sense. Even aside from spyware, things get messy in the system, so it'll make it all smooth again. Of course don't forget to backup everything.

I also edited the title because it was annoying me. No need for CAPS, or saying URGENT!!!, since we'll help once we see the thread.
