Not sure if this is the right place to post.
I want to keep my address "http://www.loora.co.uk" in the address bar even when visitors go to an external link throgh a _self hyperlink.
I also own the external link if that helps.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

This is misleading and annoying.
Just use a frame, then, and that's it. Place your page/site in a frame, then the next page linked to will remain in that frame.
There are breaking out of frames scripts on some pages, and you can't do much to get around that.
Again, I'd recommend not doing this. It really annoys me.
BUT... if it is your own page and you have a need, that's probably ok. As long as you're not pretending to let people browse other sites through your page.
Even if it is your own page, there are disadvantages, and of those, the topmost if that people can't bookmark your site easily, link to it, etc. (In terms of being easy to do so. It's quite possible, with just a bit of knowledge, to get around this, so it isn't protected, just annoying to access.)

That's great working fone thanks.
I wanted to do it because I wanted to keep the address of the page I link to hidden.
I don't want people to bookmark it or link to it, that way they are more likely to come through my main site.
Thanks for the help.

Remember this won't stop anyone who tries (and knows just a bit), and may annoy some visitors if they must be forced through the rest of your site first. But... up to you, since I don't know the details (and it isn't my project ;))

I wouldn' understand why it annoys people, if they only see the main adress. Although every page of my site can be easily linked to, I also prefer having one adress above, so it is easier for people to remember your site and come back.
Of course the regular surfers know they can see where the link is going to on mouse-over, or by checking the source, but that, I guess, is not why she wants it for.
Not all surfers are that familiar with the web, so some people still write down the steps of "how they got to that information", instead of copying the adress. They do exist. Also, don't you just hate these pages made by CMS, where the adress goes till the sea ? I'd rather have one ...
Anyway, something to have a poll about ?
Well, sites in frames annoy me because:it takes more effort to bookmark an interesting page (this *will* lose you viewers); if I duplicate a tab/window or try to refresh the page I get hurled back to the main page (at which point I tend to get disgusted and leave the site); they don't degrade well in non-frame browsers, including screenreaders; and they aren't valid HTML 4 Strict.
