Openeing a page within the same window...help

Is there a way of forcing a link to open in a section of the page the user is on

i have a link in a outer area and want it to open the page only within a inner area...

i have set this so the innner area is already in the center of a table...

i know it can be done using frames but due to the layout of the page there is no easy way for me to do this...so i have stuck with using the table

i was wondering if i am able to set the center section of the table as a <div> (or something along those lines) and when i go to a link it opens the new information within those tags...

ok ive found a script (on DD) for an iframe setup of a similar thing...is it possible to force this i frame to load up different .docs depending on a link clicked on outside itself...
