favicon problems

:confused: I used the generator and code for favicon and can't seem to get it to work. I uploaded the .ico image.....confirmed it on site....and used the code in the head section (about one week ago)....I even tried an absolute link to the image but no luck. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Favicons are notoriously unreliable in explorer, is that your browser?
