Which do you think looks better for a company web site?
www.tangledinthe.net
www.tangledinthe.net/new
Thank you for the advice!!

Personally, I like both designs but I especially like the first link. That looks both professional and "high-tec" (for a lack of better words). So, if I had to choose right now, I would go with the first design.
Hope this helps.

I think both of them are really nice, however you need to take into account the "flash". not everyone on the net is flash enabled, so not only will the first design header wont work properly, but neither of the navigation will work either. the effects that you have for the navigation can both be very easily duplicated in CSS.
Rather than having just a bunch of "geeks n techies" looking over it, I would also look at your target audience (eg what types of pages / design you trying to sell, who would be potential clients) and ask them... because you could have an outstanding page, but if it cosmetically it's a swimming site and your company is basketball, you probably are going to do more harm than good.
Personally I like the second one better, but I would link the bolded title in your footer after the copyright :-p

Thank you for the tips, as far as the flash headers/nav goes, the current one does have a little link under it that redirects you to the non flash site. The second (new) one would have that as well if that is what i would be using.
Thanks again for the advice!

I personally prefer the first one. More visually stimulating although the navigation bar in the second one is "cool" so to speak.

Tangled in the Net is a horrible name for a web design or just about any company. It sounds like you are drowning, and inviting others to join you.
The designs are nice though, I vote for #1.

The name of the company wasn't really up for discussion, but thank you for your concern.
As far as the design tips go, thanks guys.. it really helps getting feedback!
Thanks Again!

The second site is far better, the first one takes far too long to download because of that huge Flash pap at the top of the page.

"Not up for discussion" is a way to kill innovation. The name of a business is very important and its liabilities often cannot be overcome simply by a pretty package. The name could be worse:
Drowning in a Net
But, not much.
Best of luck to you.

As a business owner, I like the second one because it's less fussy. The first one, while it looks great, has so much info, some less techy folks might feel overwhelmed. Also, the English major in me can't let this one go - Its all about our clients. It should be It's all about our clients. (apostrophe in the it's) Otherwise, really nice sites.

Heh,
I do appreciate the criticism however, the company is already established so changing the nane was not on the list of 'to do'.
Thank You!!

I still think that something better should be used for a name. It could be worked out to be similar, something like:
Plying the Net
. . . applying the internet to your business
I came up with that after just a few minutes, I'm sure there is something even better if more time were devoted to brainstorming and/or if a different theme could be used for the name. As a web designer, you should at least mention problems with a business (like its name, etc.) to its principals. It will ultimately impact the effectiveness of your service, feedback, and word of mouth referrals.
A business can gain attention for itself by announcing a name change to all its previous and potential customers. If the new name is a better name, this attention will be positive.

To be honest, your the first person that found something wrong with the name, Ive actually been complimented on it by several clients.
Ill see what I can do

The name's quite unique.

Having a unique name and even receiving compliments on it doesn't necessarily mean it is a good name for business purposes. Generally you will receive far less, if any negative feedback than positive feedback, at least from the general public, on a site. This is because folks who are turned off simply go elsewhere.
Tangled in the Net
has some things going for it, but it really does sound like a losing proposition. I wouldn't want to be tangled in the net. Would you? It suggests just the sort of situation a business utilizing the internet would like to avoid.
Anyways, it has been my experience in situations like this that there is little that can be done to persuade folks. You (and whoever else) seem happy with the name. Therefore, for better or for worse, I guess you are stuck with it.
Even a horrible name cannot hold back an excellent product or service that is otherwise well marketed, at least not entirely.
With a name like "Tangled in the Net", it has to be good.
Ooops that slogan's already taken. :)
How about:
Feeling tangled in the net? Try - Tangled in the Net!
