Which Linux distribution do you recommend to a complete Linux newbie? I've heard Fedora is good, but I don't want to work around the bugs in the Core 6 install... Maybe I'll just wait until Core 7 comes out (it's scheduled this May, right?)
Yes, late May, but don't feel herded into one distribution. You could always grab a live CD to play with until then, or try another distribution instead: Kubuntu is said to be good.

Yeah, I though about Kubuntu too. Live CD's look very convenient about now :D My friends seem to have this idea that Linux is really hard to use... One of them said something about having to know how to write computer programs to use it :confused: Part of my motivation for installing Linux is to prove them wrong :p
