problems with the words

i have a problem with the words because whenever i try to put one that has a tilde, and i upload it to the server, the tilde disappears, can anyone help me? why is this?

yes, i am using dreamweaver.

What service is your website hosted by? I've never had this problem with Dreamweaver and I use it all the time.
