load font with opening of site

Is there a way to load a font when the website loads. I want to use a font that will not be on the users computer. Is there a way to incorporate a font in a site?

short of letting the user download it, no.

You could replace all of the letters with images, but that would take up quite a bit of bandwidth, and people with screenreaders couldn't hear your words. there's also IE's activex, but its generally a bad idea to put files onto someones comp. without their knowlege, activeX is IE only, and a gaping security hole among other things.
