PHP and zip files

Hey . . . does anyone know how to extract zip files using php? I looked it up on php.net and i've noticed that half of the text characters on that site are not showing up correctly (very weird) and i can't really read anything.

for the wrong characters, try viewing it in a different language (you can choose them on the page itself)
