View Full Version : Ciest la vie (or however you say goodbye in Spanish)

I thought I was going to be able to devote a far amount of time these last couple days, and I was really looking forward to getting involved again in everyones Flash projects, as it is so much fun for me.

Unfortunately real life has decided that I can't do that right now. I have had such a wonderful experience here and I have come to think of a lot of you as friends.

Because of this I felt I should at least explain why I need to leave, perhaps then y'all won't be too mad at me :p

As you know a few weeks ago my children's biological father passed away. We now have the children full time and need a much larger place to live, so we are moving. That coupled with my sites getting more and more popular I have to spend more time getting those running more smoothly. I also have a new money making project that just came up with Flash that I can't turn away from.

Also, as a few of you know about I am trying to become a screen writer/director. Currently my agent is in negotiations with a brand new Film production company and I may just get my wish and sell a screenplay as well as direct the movie. If that goes through I will be gone for a very long time putting that project together.

Also, I have been selected in my work place as the "golden child" and I have been given a training opportunity that will take me across the country for about 6 months.

All of that combined plus starting my newest site and my ARG getting going I have no free time left.

I wish all of you the best, and I WILL be around as much as possible, but it could be days or weeks between visits.

If I am currently in the middle of any projects with anyone (tommyknocker I know we have a couple going) please send me an email and I will help you complete those.

Hopefully I can find the time to stop by and help out some more for a few hours here and there.

Adios,

BLiZZ

Remember that you can still stop by without having to do too much if you're busy :)

I wasn't aware of your writer/director ambitions. Same here, actually (more director than writer, though). I hope that goes well.

For spanish,
Adios, hasta luego, or ciao.

Twey

"Ciao" is Italian :) "Hasta luego" means "until later."

 How many languages do you know Twey?

djr33
03-28-2007, 07:01 AM
I know that ciao is italian, but it's also used when speaking spanish.

Twey
03-28-2007, 07:05 AM
As it is in English. That doesn't make it an English or Spanish word, though.

I currently speak four and a half (my German's pathetic :p).

Cool.
BTW, Congrats on 8 000 posts!

Indeed, on the posts.

Well, language isn't just a science. It's cultural. All I know is that I have been taught in my spanish classes to say (as an option) "ciao" for goodbye.

In Malay (the language in Malaysia), they say an accented version of "hello" for the same meaning as in English. It's clearly from English. Does that make it not Malay?

Speaking a language is communication, not being able to write an outdated dictionary ;)

Haha.

And, sure, ciao is Italian. No real argument there. But it's still "how you say goodbye in spanish" as the title says.

Not for "goodbye," however :p
alam ko :p wala naman akong sinabi na ang salitang "c'est la vie" ay nangangahulugang "goodbye" sa Espaņol :)

What was that?

If BLiZZaRD doesn't come back, hey, that's life!
(en français: c'est la vie!)

My computer's built-in multi-keyboard function doesn't work for me. I clicked "French" and almost typed:

en frqn
then got stuck when I had to type ç.
Once I figured it out, I almost typed:

qisM cùest lq vie1

If I was to type it again, but clicked "Arabic" instead of "French," I would have typed:
ثى بقضى9شهسز ؤ4ثسف مض رهثظ
or Spanish:
en frqn9ais. c4est la vie-
or if I didn't hit anything:
en frqn9ais. c4est la vie/

(I'm working on keyboard conversion tables)

So I am back... Training is over, we have moved, I am working on my second screenplay (and third) my wife is in negotiations with our agent over her new novel and all is going well.

I still have some HUGE computer projects for my personal sites and I am training now for work for CEH (google it).

I will poke in here and there and do what I can to help (or get help) as often as I can. Still not back full time, but getting closer!

YAY ME! :D
