Last night (11 p.m. GMT -8) my children's biological father died of heart failure following a 3 week battle from severe injuries sustained in a massive car wreck.
I just wanted everyone to know that I might be going away from the forums for a while. If I am gone this is why.
On the other hand, I use the computer to "get away and play" so the flip side is I may be on here more constantly.
I can't tell at this point, it will all depend on how much the kid's want/need me around/with them, and how much time they want to be just left alone.
Just wanted to give a heads up in case it turns out to be the former, I won't just disappear like Mike did :p

Wow... I don't really know what to say. Your family is more important, so I'm sure we'll understand if you're not here for a while.

It must be very hard on your family, my heart goes out to all of you.

As said before, family comes first. Don't really know what else to say but sorry to hear that.

Did BLiZZaRD just ask the internet to stop using it?
Hope your kids are okay.

Yes. Can the internet shut down for a few days? :D
Most likely I will be on more than ever, I am leaving work now and will be home for several days to help the kids cope.
So far everyone is doing as well as can be expected. Thank you for your wishes, I will pass them along.
Now I am going to go home and try to get some sleep (as the call came in last night at 11:45 p.m. and I was just about to doze before getting ready for work) wow.. have I really been up for 42 hours? Crikey!
I shall return!

Hi Blizz:
I'm really sorry to hear this, especially for your kids. It must be devastating for them.

I'm sorry, I'm sure in one way it's my fault :(

Well the little devils are in bed now. They seem to be doing really well. I am keeping them home from school for at least a day or two. I feel that the bombardment of good wishes from friends and teachers would be a little too much this soon after.
as for that movie, it is a good one. 2 of the 3 kids have seen it and the youngest won't sit through X-men, so I doubt would watch that one :)
It's no body's fault but his own, really, and for reasons I won't go into here we all kind of saw it coming. So at least there was that. It is still tough for the kids though, naturally.

Just in case anyone wants to know, the kids are already doing a lot better, and are back to school and normal routines. Still a little sensitive, but are holding together really well.
I will be back to my normal "duties" after I get home from dropping the kiddos at school tomorrow morning.
(So all of those unanswered or awaiting extra help in the Flash forum I will get to most/all of you then :D)

Well it's not over. I don't think losing a parent is something you can ever really "get over" but it is time for the next stage of moving on, and that means getting back to the old routine and schedules.
Thanks you all again for your warm wishes, it means a lot.

Just one thing though -
whats a BIOLOGICAL father ?

biological is the one that "made" you. Your biological parents had sex and conceived you.
Then if they split up and remarry, you have 2 moms and 2 dads, one biological and one through marriage (in the US they are called step-parents)

Best of luck.
As for a film on the subject, even the best of intent with this could cause problems in simply forcing them to face the subject.
