Dating forum

I am thinking of creating a dating forum with a chatprogram for a certain group of people.
Which programm should I use. Is asp and sql ok or is it better to do it in php and mysql.
My problem is that I dont know much about php and mysql. I would appreciate some ideas.

it's free, and uses php/MySQL/Flash

nice, feature rich, full support and many things to do/choose from

installs itself after you upload and go to the install.php page :D Can't be easier.

Other than that try the free f=version of AZDG (http://www.azdg.com/scripts.php) The main difference is a copyright license link and less features, but the plus side (I guess) is no Flash, just PHP/MySQL.

Other than those 2, you will get a crappy software pack or have to pay over 400 bucks (US) for a decent one.

The tufat script is arguable the best on the market, and it is free..

So the best solution would be to learn php and mysql within the next 3 months, then I would have what I want. what do you think?

Learning the trade is always the best solution. And with PHP/MySQL, it is pretty easy to learn.

And SMF and phpbb forums can easily be used for this type of thing, so you don't have to make your own forum :D
