Javascript slideshow...help?

Hi,

I've recently put a manual slideshow on my site showing a few basic site designs which i've come up with but i'd like to put some text underneath the slideshow showing which number slide is currently being shown.

I'm a bit of a noob as far as javascript is concerned so i was wondering if you could tell me how to do this. The url of the page is http://www.bruntnet.com/templates.php
