Flash Mp3 Player

Want to setup a simple flash mp3 player?

Right click and download the player HERE (http://www.beholdhecomes.net/jw_allvideos_aplayer.swf)

Once you’ve done that you’ll need to add the following on your page – where you want the player to be.

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" style="width:300px; height:15px;" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0">
<param name="movie" value="jw_allvideos_aplayer.swf?file=SONG.mp3"/>
<embed src="jw_allvideos_aplayer.swf?file=SONG.mp3" style="width:300px; height:60px;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"/>
</object>

For an example of what it looks like scroll down at the bottom of my main page. See signature for link.

Not too bad, just remember to tell people where to edit to change the SONG, as well as the other factors that IE7, IE 5+ and FF2 bring with Flash applications.

You also have it set to use Flash 8 or higher, which loses about 36% of the Web Surfers out there.

You can change that to Flash 7, which should be just fine without effecting the AS in the code, but you never know.

Is there a source code somewhere?

Is there a source code somewhere?

I'm not sure what you mean. I found it (As is) on some site and thought it would be useful and of course thought I would pass it on.

By the way, thanks for the tip - I'll try changing it to Flash 7. :)

Would this do it?

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" style="width:300px; height:15px;" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0">
<param name="movie" value="jw_allvideos_aplayer.swf?file=SONG.mp3"/>
<embed src="jw_allvideos_aplayer.swf?file=SONG.mp3" style="width:300px; height:60px;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"/>

Yes that will do it (changing the 7) although I am not sure what the 3rd "0" is doing there... there is the version -the first number- and then the major revision - the second number - and then the minor revision - the third number -

The last 2 should ALWAYS be 0,0 as you don't want to EVER require a lower version.

for example, there was an update release for version 6, which wrote it's cabs as 6, 4, 3. Anyone with the latest (at the time) version 7 couldn't see these movies. if you changed it to 6, 0, 0 or 7, 0, 0 it still worked fine and everyone could see it. :D

Flash source code is the .fla and any .as files that made up the movie if what you posted is all you have then you don't have the source code for that movie. ;)

There are also some resources available at gotoandlearn.com that might be handy.
