The sound of the far off furnace, the keys as I hit them . . .
元ちとせ, ワダツミの木 (Hajime Chitose, "Neptune's Tree" [or possibly "Tree of the Sea Child," she doesn't provide kanji]).

Right now? The steady hum of eleven fans to my front right. Later? Who knows. Maybe a little BT, or a Godskitchen compilation. We'll see.
Mike
Eleven fans? Are you in a server room? Or a Westlife concert?

The noise of 28 other computers, one teacher screaming at a salesman who'll charge us $2300AU ($1,150US) for breaking our printer and a student wrestling another student to the ground. Also another teacher screaming at my class outside. :D
Ah, the joys of compulsory education :p

I am listening to my very loud keyboard **click click tick tap tap tap click**
And I can hear my 155 gallon tank filter wheeeze out a little tune that sounds a lot like "CLEAN ME YOU BASTRARD I CAN'T BREATHE!" Or somthing just as catchy....
And the children stirring in their beds.. such a musical day! :sigh:

Hmm... Right now, I hear the audible version of stupidity. Funny I should read this post at the EXACT time that my ex-wife calls me to *****. Heh?

Wow, not very many of you listen to music. Turns out that it can drown out pretty much all of the crappy noises you've noticed. For instance:
Blizzard's keyboard can easily be drowned out with a little Trivium. (For hearing the 155 gallon tank filter scream ='"CLEAN ME YOU BASTRARD I CAN'T BREATHE!"' there might be some need of psychiatric therapy. Just kidding.)
Mwinter's fan "problem" can be solved with some Atreyu.
Sikky's problem is best solved with a hammer. To the computer. Or you can play really good, really loud music. Or you can get the computer fixed. Or you can buy a new one. Choices, choices.
See, music solves all of lifes problems. Except for cancer. And death. And becoming deaf...

Heh, I'll have you know that I'm currently sporting an indent in my hair due to the headphones I've been wearing. :)

I'm not into metal, and too old for The Neverending Story. :p

Heh :) I find I can work longer with music, but I concentrate less, and certain pieces of music put me in the mood for coding (高橋 瞳、もう一つの夜明け and Clannad's Caidé Sin Do'n Té Sin, particularly). It's a tradeoff, I guess. If I need to focus on something seriously, I don't play music.

LOL, I'm listening to Avishai Cohen's "At Home", which I highly recommend for just kicking back and for concentrating.
I do appreciate the quiet though.

Not much of a jazz fan, either I'm afraid, though there are no doubt a few exceptional pieces.

I was just wondering this morning, what is the best music to listen to while coding. LOL
I also like smooth jazz a little later in the day. :D
