Per the rules (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/rules.htm) please note that self promotion isn't allowed on the forums. I don't find much relevance religious videos have to webmasters at large. Due to this, this thread will be deleted soon.

Note that Jack HAS been working on this for a while.
He's been getting help here and is just trying to share his result with us, if it happens to help us.
He's not just spamming, though it would look like that if you weren't aware of his previous work on his site/videos/etc here.
But... yeah. It's not exactly relevant to web design in general.

Agreed, I have helped Jack build some Flash for this site as well, and he has worked very hard and continuous on these videos and his site in general.
Perhaps a revision of the original post, but I don't view it as spam either, he isn't offering anything except content, same-same as if we came and posted some new PHP code snippets for others to use.
It's just a different form of snippets, and a more exact content is all.

Yep, I don't consider it spam based on Jack's history on the forums. But the rules must apply to everyone ("self promotion"), otherwise it'd be hard to enforce them, especially against new comers who will cite threads like this as justification for their own "self promotional" thread. :)
Per the rules (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/rules.htm) please note that self promotion isn't allowed on the forums. I don't find much relevance religious videos have to webmasters at large. Due to this, this thread will be deleted soon.
I was under the impression that those who spam have something to gain. As you can clearly see, I’m not gaining anything from sharing this video. I simply thought that some of you would want some fresh content for your web sites and seeing how this is truly a fantastic video I thought that it would had been welcomed.
I may be a Jesus freak, but then again, I could be doing much worst then practicing biblical virtues. For example, I use to drink and get into all kind of trouble. I ended up in jail several times and man let me tell you, I freaked out a lot of people. Now that I’m applying the words of Christ to my life things have changed. As a matter of fact, if you knew me, you would have to say that it’s nothing short of a miracle.
For many years I was utterly depressed and simply wanted to die. Life was something that I simply despised! It didn’t have any meaning. Indeed, I travailed North America searching for something to ease my pain but found absolutely nothing.
Truth be told, I hated life and just about everyone who crossed my path. They had nothing to offer me and I in turn had nothing to offer them. Why, because I had nothing to live for. Life simply had no meaning. It was as if I was chasing the wind. Drugs and fast times didn’t have anything to offer, and take my word for it, I’ve been around and I know what I’m talking about.
Now if I can’t share what I hold as sacred with you guys then I’ll simply move on. I wouldn’t want to be a member of a forum that wouldn’t except me for who I am, and if what I share is offensive to you then by all means delete it and I’ll find others to share it with.
In the end it doesn’t really matter to me. I’m still better off then most of you because I know in my heart of hearts that God is real and what’s more, I believe in what I’m doing.
If that’s seen as spamming then by all means, brand me the king of spam because I’m going to continue to tell people about the bible and how it’s changed my life. Granted, unlike so many I’m not going to charge for it. Money is fine for paying the bills and so on but I assure you, when the lights go out at night money isn’t going to satisfy your deepest desires.
So go ahead and delete what I’m offering. I assure you that if you do you’ll no longer have to put up with me. After all, the world is a big place and there are many who would welcome what I stand for.
Did I ask for anything in return? No! So then, how can this possibly be seen as spamming? What do I stand to gain by offering this video? Not money because it’s clearly free.
It’s true that I’m not offering scripts or codes but then again, what good are scripts and codes if people don’t have any content? I assume that if the video in question taught you how to make money that it would have been welcomed. However, there’s more to life then money my friends.
For all you know, someone may come across this video and it may very well change their life. Spamming, I don’t think so!
How is it that people ask God to bless America and yet refuse to let Him!
In any case, I said my piece, do what you have to. :)
What do I stand to gain by offering this video?Promotion of your content, possibly. Not that I'm saying this is why you're doing it, but it is possible.
For all you know, someone may come across this video and it may very well change their life.It may be so, and I sincerely hope it does so for the better, but this really isn't an appropriate place in which to post it.
I assume that if the video in question taught you how to make money that it would have been welcomed.Unless it was related to web design, no, it would still have been just as inappropriate.
If you have reason of your own to hold these beliefs, then I fully support your freedom to do so, and even to share them. However, you really must consider whether a web design forum is the place in which to do this. It's a much better idea to spread your ideas somewhere where they are expected and will be appreciated. Your automatic response to this is probably that your religion more important than anything else, and thus is relevant anywhere. I do not accept this logic, since it justifies almost any course of action.
Now if I can’t share what I hold as sacred with you guys then I’ll simply move on. I wouldn’t want to be a member of a forum that wouldn’t except me for who I amYou're a Christian. This evidently controls a large portion of your character and how you think and act. However, it isn't part of who you are. It may form your character, but it is not a part of it; facts and beliefs are separate entities, not a part of you. We do not need to know about it in order to accept who you are.
i hate it wen relgious freaks do crap like thisThat is far more offensive than Jack's spreading of his religion. It adds no content or interest to the discussion. If what you have to say isn't worth saying, don't say it. Ad hominem arguments definitely fall under this category.

There's certainly nothing wrong with being religious; I'm Christian btw. But back to the subject, I consider spamming and self promotion two distinct things actually, both of which are discouraged per the rules. The later merely means a member is starting a thread or replying to one for the main purpose of plugging his own site/ service. There doesn't have to be any tangible gain for the member in order for his/her thread to be "self promotional" in nature. It's more about the intent behind posting when it comes to such threads.
So in a nutshell, this is certainly nothing personal against you Jack. :)

I feel for Jack, though. All of us were included in the "who is the holy spirit" debate, in which we asked Jack to kindly move it from the Flash thread to the lounge.
It was moved and continued without mishap.
He did post this in the lounge thread, afterall.
To fit in with the rules, perhaps Jack will be allowed to edit his first post and instead of listing the links he can offer them to persons interested via a PM to him through the board?
